When creating a teacher account in Dash, you'll be asked to indicate your school, or if you're a casual or retired teacher. Doing so sends a request to the school or casual approver, and once approved, you'll receive an active status at your school. Having an active status at a school is a cornerstone of Dash's permissions, and opens up further functionalities for teachers.
Getting an active status at your school
There are three stages to getting a teacher role.
1. Pre-application.
If you haven't applied for a teacher role yet, you won't be able to apply for positions. You also won't see a school under the Welcome message. Click "Apply for a teacher role" to request a role at your school.
2. Pending approval.
Once you have applied for a role, but haven't yet been approved, your request will be pending. This will fire an email to your school at 3:15pm the day you apply, and it will contain a link for the principal or other delegated member to action your request. The school's email address will be displayed at the bottom of the blue information box. If you believe this email address is out of date, please contact support@dashapp.com.au and request an update. Only generic email addresses (not personal) are used for school Dash accounts.
3. Active status.
Once you're approved, you will receive an email with subject "Workflow complete: Teacher applying for role at specific school". The yellow tag will update to green and show "Active". You'll then be able to apply for positions and School based Competitions.
