In Dash it is possible to share a child between parent accounts. The first parent to register the child is considered the primary parent, and subsequent parent accounts that have access to the child are considered secondary parents.
There are cases where you may wish to add or become a secondary parent to a child in Dash so they can also register the child to participate in events, teams and trials.
Secondary parent access
By offering or accepting secondary access, the other parent will gain full access to the child's profile, including potentially sensitive information such as:
- Residential and mailing addresses
- Emergency contact details
- Medicare and health information
- Other personal and administrative details associated with the child's account
If you have received a request and do not wish to grant this access, you may simply ignore or decline this request. No information will be shared unless you approve the access.
If you have any questions or concerns about this request or how your child's information is managed, please contact our support team at support@dashapp.com.au.
Adding a Secondary Parent
If you are the primary parent, to add a secondary parent, click into your child on your dashboard, and then click the "Add Secondary Parent" button.
You will find in the child's summary page (accessed when you click on their name from the dashboard).
Here you'll be able to add the email address of the secondary parent you want to add. If you wish to add a secondary parent to more than one child you will need to do this separately. Each child can be individually assigned secondary parents.
Please note: It is important to use the email address that the secondary parent used to register.
Capabilities of Secondary Parents
Secondary parents can:
- Register a child for an intake
- Edit a child's details
- Attach medical documents
Secondary Parents cannot:
- Remove a primary parent as a parent
Removing Secondary Parents
If you ever wish to remove the secondary parent, navigate to the child's details summary and click the yellow button "Remove Secondary Parent".
Applying as a Secondary Parent Due to a Duplicate Child
Children cannot be duplicated in the software. Only one instance may exist for every child. You may be prompted to apply as secondary parent if the software recognises that you are trying to re-enter a child who is already in the system.
