Some sports, such as rowing, sailing or a triathlon relay, are made up of small teams of children. The best way to facilitate this in Dash is via a joint application intake of "Child Team" type.
Joining a Child Team
Child teams are broken down into two main categories - public and private.
Private
To join a private team, the team leader will need to supply you with either a permalink or a unique ticket code. This is likely a teacher/school sports organiser. It can also be a parent.
Permalink
A permalink is a secure, unique link that, when followed, takes you directly to the relevant team application process.
A permalink will look similar to the below:

When you follow the link you will be taken to the application creation screen, with the relevant intake selected.
Please Note: If you are not logged into your Dash account when following a permalink, you will be prompted to do so, before you can begin an application. If you get lost while making an account, follow the link again.
Ticket
A ticket is a unique combination of numbers and letters that, when entered, take you directly to the relevant team application process.
Once given a ticket code by the team leader, navigate to your dashboard, enter the code into the ticket code field and click "Enter".
After you've used your permalink or ticket, to start your application, click "Create Application". Follow the prompts until you complete the application. More info about this process can be seen above in the public application section, or here.
Please Note: If you have multiple children in Dash, you need to make sure you select the relevant child from the "Applying child" dropdown
Public
To join a public team, click the "Apply to an open intake" button from your dashboard. Below the "Apply Online" heading.
From here, choose the child who will be joining the team from the "Applying child" dropdown, then select the relevant intake. Once you have selected the appropriate intake, click the "Create Application" button at the bottom of the screen.
Once you have started the application process, you will be prompted to either create a team (if the intake allows for parent management of a team) or join an already created team. To join a team, click "Find team" and search for the relevant team name. Once you've found the team you'd like to join, click "Join".
This will begin the application process. Each application is different and different teams may ask different questions throughout their application process.
